Today, the stress is eased slightly as I bartered with utility firms over my energy costs and sat down with the council about my council tax bill, which they take great pleasure in threatening legal action over the slightest missed payment!
On a more positive note, I over estimated my vodafone bill which means my budget has been eased a little this month and also my contract runs out at the end of the month! Time for a new package and phone methinks
that’ll cheer me up no end!!!
I’m just going to freshen up a bit, go and get some much needed supplies to get me through this years “ice-age” and then finish building another PC (not for me I hasten to add!!! Those days are sooooo gone)
Laterz…

Hello Damo,
Just read through your blog about your money problems and thought that I would post a few ideas for you. They may not save you a fortune but every little helps. I have always found that even a fiver saved is a moral victory in the ever losing battle against poverty.
So here goes -
1 Get rid of your contracted mobile phone and get yourself a pager instead. Make more use of your house phone with its answer phone service - get the notion that if its important they will leave a message.
2 Get rid of your SKY TV. (thats if your still have it, that is?)
3 Get rid of your car. I know that you use your car a lot, but you are well within walking/cycling distance to work and you can always get a train to see your Mum and Dad. Not too sure how you will get to your band practice but I am sure you will find a way. (does sort of mess me up though if I ever need a lift home after a boozy night in Crewe. so maybe not such a great idea then)
4 Get a lodger. Its company for you and money towards your bills.
5 Sell your expensive large house, move back to Sunny Runcorn and buy a cheaper place, commute to work.
Hope this helps,
If not - I will be in the pub at about 5:20 tonight if you want to drown you sorrows.
Colin.
hehe….NOOOOOO!!!! I can’t live without my car??
SKY is sooo gone!
My mobile is actually the least of my financial woes costing on average less than £15 a month….Wish I could sell the house and commute; not sure I like the idea of Runcorn though….WAY TO CLOSE TO YOU…!!
;P
I’m busy washing my hair tonight to go the pub, besides I have 24hrs these days for that! I will join you in a jar real soon. I have “business” tonight….
No problem. See you back at work soon.
(times must be hard if you are doing “business” tonight - it looks far to cold out there!)
…I wasn’t going to comment BUT! This is how rumours start?! grrrrr…..
