Just a quick observation as I take in a little daytime telly television for the first time in an age….is it just me or is Advertising Media doing its upmost to dumb down our mother tongue???

I watched two adverts today containing the words (are they real words?) - Cakiness, and Stretchified… not to mention the number of other apparently made up words in advertising there are out there….is advertising seeking to blind us not with science but with language instead, in the hope that we will buy simply because we DON’T understand.

It would appear so.

Does anyone else out there agree with me in the thought that a lot of media these days has lost its integrity and certainly relies more on OUR ignorance than on simple fact?
