A Con Carne!

January 30th, 2006 | Category: General

This is my take on Chilli-Con Carne that really is a ***CON***, and if done right can be ready in about 20mins! Serves 4 :)

You will need the following:-

1 Tin of baked Beans
1 Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
1 Tin of Corned Beef (Or Quorn if you want the veggie version)
1 Sachet of Quick Chilli mix
150mls cold water
125g Boil in the bag rice (x2 if serving 4people)
1 small chopped onion (optional)
4/5 Sliced button Mushrooms (optional)
seasoning to taste

Method:-

- First of all put the beans and tomotes in a reasonable sized pan on a low heat to simmer.
- Mix up the sachet of chilli with the water and add to the beans and tomatoes.
- Add your optional chopped onions, and mushrooms.
- Dice the Corned-beef into cubes and add them too.

- Whilst the above is taking place put the rice in another pan to boil.

Keep stirring the chilli regularly until the cubes of corned-beef starts to break up, add seasoning if required. Serve piping hot once the rice is cooked, as a rule of thumb the boil in the bag rice is ready in about 10mins in boiling water, add slightly longer than 10 mins if you are doing more than one bag.

There are so many different variations of this possible, so don’t be afraid to experiment!

Introspective

January 29th, 2006 | Category: General

You know something? When it all boils down to it. We are all nothing more than ants. I am sure that I would live as rich a life, if not more so, as an ant. When you think about it, their life has far more order, far more symmetry, far more that actually makes sense.

What if human beings aren’t meant to be. What if human beings are like some vast virus of evolution, swallowing up the precious commodities of the planet Earth? What if the Earth is really alive in it’s own right, and we are it’s cancer.

Instead of accepting your life for what it is, question yourself, question the world around you, and most important question the authority of those at the top of the human pyramid, for what do they know that we do not? What right do they have to shape our future?

I will be the first to admit I am blissfully ignorant. Yet at the same time my intuition is screaming at me every single day my heart beats and my lungs breath air for me. Does anyone truly understand the world they are born into? I fear that we as a human race have lost touch with what it means to teach, and to learn and to strive for a greater good, we are nothing more than slaves unto ourselves.

Greed, Lust, Averace, Sloth when you break it all down, sin is everywhere - all around us, there is no escape. Anyone who responds to this and says “I have not sinned” has commited the greatest sin of all, lying. So, regardless of religious connotations - What is sin? on the surface it’s very definition? I believe it to be nothing more complicated than acting in a way that our socially engineered society deems inappriopriate and wrong.

You can change human nature as much as you want, engineer it, mould it. At the end of the day, as long as you remain conscious of the fact that you have a free will to make a choice. There remains a small glimmer of hope.

I will say a prayer to the god I believe in, which has been with me since I was born. My only religion is carried with me in my heart, it isn’t written in any book. It isn’t preached out of the subjective words of another. It is in the questions that I ask and the answers that I get, it is in my perception of the world around me.

I will know true wisdom, when I know what it is, to know nothing.

As a foot note, I would say “yes, I have” - if someone was to ask me if I have sinned. If you believe the stories of Adam and Eve, when they realised they were naked, they fell from grace; the original sin. We are the generations on from that. To take a literal view of such a thing you could argue that merely to be born into flesh, is to fall from grace - to sin. This is something I cannot form an opinion on at the moment. As I don’t know what it is to have grace, so I cannot form an comparison.

What is you view of grace? Do you think there is anyone that has it? how would you describe grace as a quality in a human being? Is it nothing more than childish innocence servived into the maturity of adulthood? My head is so full of questions tonight…

***IT’S FRIDAY!!!***

I am really looking forward to getting out and having some fun, if I had any hair left I would be letting it down! etc….

see you all next week, as I talk you through my continuing hang over.

All things happen for a reason

All things happen for a reason
Like little pebbles falling into place
Fate takes control, and through free choice
Gives variety to the human race
Nothing is done or undone
It is revealed by that inner voice
Most can’t hear it now
But in opening up
And breathing in the light
Perhaps a spark of rememberence

From a youth of guided growth
We can together make things right

Blog update….

January 26th, 2006 | Category: General

Since the majority of my reader-base (of approximatley one) does not like the syndicated content from the Telegraph because it detracts from the ***FAR MORE*** exciting things happening in my life, I have decided to switch it off, I have also decided to work on a poll idea so that I can ask the odd - pointless question now and again….

Morning all….

January 26th, 2006 | Category: General

My Karma is now restored, as tomorrow is pay day, and within that fine Bubble it coinsides with this ritual called, going to place that sells alcohol in social setting, purchasing said alcohol, consuming in large amounts (possibly falling over in the process) - going home at end of night and watch the room spin round several times….

If I am lucky I won’t repeat the kebab experience of about an hour ago….

Ah bless….I can’t wait. Maybe I should book a doctors appointment for next week about my Liver??
