For all you instant Messenger users out there, here is a little background — – > WORM INFECTED MESSAGES

Some may think this is nothing but hype, but as computers become more common place, the average “Jo” on the street that uses a PC, is either ignorant or complacent to the risks behind virus attacks. Most points of attack are now protected, however Instant Messaging is an area that appears often overlooked.

Read the linked article and make your own mind up, and next time you have a conversation with someone, even if you know them well, think at least three times before clicking on a link they send your way via the Messenger client.

Sometimes we become too trusting of such communication devices. If Instant Messaging is something you simply can’t escape from then at least educate yourself to the risks and flaws inherant in the system. You will thank yourself later, when some annonymous hacker on the Internet fails to connect to your machine or worse to steal your identity….

Certainly food for thought people…but don’t think this is anything new, it has been happening pretty much since the dawn of the internet. It is one of the biggest problems of a system as open as this, but as with all things in this universe there is no good without any bad….

Where am I?

Well, looks like my New Year good ideas were a little late in kicking off, but I am eventually getting there!! I am now walking to work, leaving the car at home, and as well as getting fit I am doing my little bit for the environment too. In fact the more I walk, the less inclicned to use the car I become :) ; coupled with this I am back on my old diet idea of cereal in the morning, followed by cuppa-soup and ricebread (with or without cheese spread) for lunch, and whatever the heck I fancy for tea — – the weight seems to be dropping off nicely.

With all the added exercise I am getting I seem to have a much more positive outlook, so things are on the up (hooray!!) - I aim to post another picture tomorrow too just for Colin at work, since he appears to be my largest critic of no picture action on my Blog…laters…

A good wine never shows signs of age, it is merely mature. How about that for an off the wall comment? In fact I think I will make that my thought for the day — – >

“A good wine never shows signs of age, it is merely mature.”

That could fit so many scenarios in life couldn’t it? But anyways!! back in the real world, I am back from band practice, and have made arrangements to go and see “Brassed Off” in the theatre with a few folks (including my parents) ….my treat apparently… well. It “is” their Anniversary (I’ll sort you and Jo out soon Andrew I promise just incredibly bad timing for me - read previous entry for details)…

Well. I am off to bed now, as I have developed a bit of a migraine and it refuses to budge.
