Well post Valentines I am feeling surprisingly UPBEAT! I have a clear vision in my head of where I could potentially be in perhaps three months time from now. I kinda made a bit of a decision inside myself a week or so ago, to simply NOT react to the little things…to the annoyances…to the pettiness…to the moans (including my own)…and simply by doing just that my stress levels have reduced dramatically, either that or simply owning a dishwasher is great therapy?

Making new friends through the Reiki group too is cool. Having someone to bounce ideas off is great, and helps such a vast subject as this to evolve as it should do. Like the energy itself being Universal is constantly changing, in my mind this illiminates stagnation which is often the cause of many a problem.

Next time you are tempted to simply shout someone down to prove a point, take one step backwards and think about the bigger picture, put yourself into THEIR shoes. Then shout if you must, but ask yourself what will this really achieve? I am sure that in 95% of cases you won’t be justified in shouting down, but don’t let yourself get down because of this, turn it around.

Sometimes by backing off you are proving your superiority - in many myths and cultures it is said with great PRIDE that a real Warrior isn’t the strongest or the fastest or the Smelliest, a real warrior is one who knows WHEN to retreat…if you decide to back down in any situation, be it professional or social - see it as a strong move, not a weak one.

It is my opinion that too many people have this philosophy the wrong way round, and because backing down is percieved generally to be weak (WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!) we are left with many nations still at War, granted this is too black and white a view, and you still have to throw in a mix of Corruption, Greed and well…Crude Oil…One Question I would love to have answered though throughout all my ramblings.

Who would you consider to be the present day Napolean, or General Custer, or Churchill? When did political figureheads stop being “LEADERS” and get bogged down in media, stats and rhetoric? When will we see a political leader step up to the plate and dare to be different. Dare to stand out from the crowd and actually listen to what people are saying all around them, but not just listen - then ACT upon it?

…A lot of all this is just pipe-dreams to me. I have little or no faith in the current political machinery of Western culture, either domestically or internationally for that matter.

We need someone new.

We need someone not just Globally Aware, but Global fullstop.

We need less barriers.

We need more friends.

….so, How many hatchets would it take to be buried to achieve this? Is it something we want? ….sigh my head hurts…time for some tea….laters….

  1. Napoleon – Tried to unify Europe, by becoming allies with some and conquering others. Loved by his people. Strengths – determined, knew how to use propaganda. Weaknesses - vain, overconfident. Ended up with Europe unifying against him. Defeated, captured and sent to Elba. Only to return again 100 days later, but again defeated, captured and this time sent to St Helena.

Saddam - Tried to unify the Arab world. Loved by his people (?) Strengths – determined, knew how to use propaganda. Strengths – determined, knew how to use propaganda. Weaknesses – vain, overconfident. Ended up with a lot of the Arab world unifying against him. Defeated once, but left in power. Defeated a second time and is now standing trail.

General Custer – over zealous (Attacked the Sioux when ordered to just find and trail), arrogant (didn’t listen to advice – refused 3 gating guns for fear of slowing him down.). Dividing his forces. (Of his 600 troops, he formed 3 groups which were meant to attack the Sioux from 3 different directions at once. A good tactic of you can time it well and have superior intel of your foe. – Custer did not.)

President Bush (the younger) – Over zealous (Attacked Iraq without first proving the existence of or the location of WMDs), arrogant (Shows a lot of self-importance not only to himself but to his country. will usually jump in with both feet first rather then wait for all the facts.) Dividing his forces. (Even though the US boosts one of the worlds largest armies. Bush decided to attack Iraq whilst still engaged in Afghanistan, and is now contemplating going against Iran as well.)

Churchill – Lead Britain through the Second World War, but was voted out of office soon afterwards. Sent troops to stop a strike by miners.

Thatcher – Lead Britain through the Falklands conflict, but was voted out of office by her own party. Sent the police to stop the miners strike.

  2. Like I said “pipe-dreams” - I cited a few names as examples of “LEADERS” I never said there were necessarily GOOD leaders? I do accept your point of view, but you missed the point entirely…now get on with your work!!
