Lucky to be alive?

I was in my car and the vehicle in front (a good 200yards ahead) was nearly hit head on by an on-coming vehicle, which then swerves at the last minute knocking his/her wing mirror off and the debris from that hits and damages my car (which I didn’t find out until I came home just now!) - and the this “IDIOT” drives off into the night!!
Irony of ironies, the chap in the front vehicle was an off-duty police officer….isn’t it always the way? I stopped out of a matter of course as I was a witness to the whole affair, and I must say this policeman is very lucky indeed. Just one fraction of a second out in his reaction time could have meant the difference between serious injuries or even a fatality.
It doesn’t even bear thinking about! I gave my statement when the uniform arrived, and went on my sober way. I’m just shocked at the way this other vehicle just dissappeared? Between us we surmised this driver was either half-cut, uninsured or disqualified….or a combination of all three? Thinking back to the incident I seem the recall a white coloured/light coloured vehicle (under the amber lights colour definition is not very good), but judging by the wing mirror left behind it could well have been a Cavelier.
Looking back on this I am a little bit shaken, and obviously I have got in touch with my insurance company as I have a damaged front grill between the front bumper and and the bonnet ![]()

Pharse! Head on collision. Seems more like you had a lucky escape rather than being nearly involved! Your poor C2 will never be the same with that tiny stone scratch you have now aquired, but hey, bring on the new bumper with spoiler extnesions and blue neon lights!
Looking back at this you may be shaken, but we, as your colleagues are stirred. And tired of hearing the tale!
I’d think of some witty come back here, but since at least one of us is busy at work (me!) I will defer to your fair enough comment!
Dave leave the poor bloke alone can’t you see he’s still in shock? Go make him a hot sugary tea and I’m sure he’ll stop,Bless ‘im, LOL
Dizzy by name……??!! You have obviously never heard the privelage of sitting next to young Damian for prologned hours of each day, having repeated reminicies of the said story, I have this privelage for over 37 hours a week! On the first occasion, it was barely interesting, by the 5th recitile it had lost near all of its interest and now, well, as you may have guessed, its now more of a drone than a story!
…The only drone round here is you mate! I’m busy “working”…
I like the use or “working” with the inverted commars, proper use of English, and does actually effectively sumarise your status in the office
….and your a comment whore!
Je ne comprend pas…….
hello
And hello back at ya….! (pssst I am still busy…m’k?!)
Ive got your number Damo, and you havent………..
..Noooooooooooo!!!!
LOL I see you are all busy ‘working’ today. Dave you got nothing better to talk about either????ROFL
Careful now, this might end up being the most commented post in my blog!!
I was merely following the slow flow of conversation. Why bark when you’ve got a dog to do it for you
I am now dummer for the reading of that last comment…
I’m not sure how to take that last comment Dave but for someone who’s really not interested in this story you’ve certainly been talking about it quite a bit hun, what was Damo’s comment earlier????
It was clearly sarcasm on my part, to humour Damian….
At last, he admits he’s the lowest form of something!
Well Dave I think you’ve just done that in a big way lol
Wow, close call! And if the idiot had have hit the car in front of you, you could have been involved too! There’s just so many idiot drivers around these days, makes you wonder if it’s worth being on the roads.
