Well - even though I am now home, I thought I would recount the events leading upto my return flight. On Thursday afternoon (since the T3 Typhoon decided we didn’t deserve too much damage) we (that’s Al, Lousie and I) decided to go and take in the sites of Victoria Peak.

All I will say is that, the train ride up (and Down!!) was “fun” - as it was so busy we had to stand, which is a feat in itself when at one point the train is nearly vertical.

Louise and I on Victoria Peak
This is a pic of Louise and I, following my battle against my vertigous nerves! Lousie and Al decided to take in the circular walk around the peak, unsurprisingly I whimped out and instead stayed within the psychologicaly (for me) safe confines on the buildings by the train terminous. I actually managed to pluck the courage to climb to the observation platform and saw some amazing views.

Hong Kong!

After I had finished enjoying the views, I wandered down to find Lousie and Al (because to be honest I had lost all track of time, and we were supposed to meet my sister in “Rat Alley” for some drinks) - and down we head on the Train again standing, or rather hanging on for dear life as there was nowhere to sit.

Once in “Rat Alley” - Central we met up with Jayne, Jessica, Bianca (Jessica’s Sister) and Rachel for something to eat and then some drinks! Of course I am beginning to feel a tiny bit rough by now, a combination of a “VERY” powerful Indian (hottest Vindaloo I have ever tasted - beautiful though!) after the Races on Wednesday, plus I think I may have picked up a little of the cold Al was suffering from, don’t feel too bad now though.

We finished up at Al’s Diner for some final drinks after what was to be my “last supper” for the holiday - here’s a snap of us all >>

My journey home began with a fairwell breakfast coffee in Starbucks; then I got a taxi to the IFC and checked in (but not before the waterworks kicked in with Rachel) awwwwww! I’ll be back soon Hun! Anyways, checked in ok after negotiating over my excess baggage (I only had a 20Kg allowance - that’s what you get for cheap tickets I guess!) then wandered a while round IFC to kill a bit of time (almost a bit too much too!) got on the train and I arrived at the airport just as the final call was going out for my flight (oops!) so, a quick half a mile (no jest!) ensued to get me to the correct gate “just” in time!

On the flight home I took this picture >>
Mountains
This was taken as we flew over Tibet (or there abouts) - and whilst I would love to believe this is Mount Everest I can’t, there simply isn’t enough snow for one thing though it was the tallest mountain around!
