It’s Official!

According to some Geek out there, Crewe is officially the centre of the world based on the calculations in Googlemaps Simpley click the link zoom all the way out, then zoom right in and see where you end up?
So, I can now say with some confidence I live in the centre of the world!!
Wouldn’t it be nice if the above were acutally true? Unfortunatley - being a bit of a geek myself I have the presence of mind and knowledge to appreciate the algorythms behind google most likley detect where you live, and centre the map on that point, however in order to test this theory I need people in different parts of the world to try the above test and see where they end up. If you can help please leave your end destination in the comments!

Well, that result is for maps.google.uk for maps.google.com Which is for the US, Coffeyville Kansas is the center. I think you can proudly claim that Crewe is the center of the UK.
Just like the British to think their country is the center of the world.

Well thank you, for confirming what I suspected all along, though I would personally like to add, that anyone in the world regardless of where they are, can with some level of credability claim to live in the centre

And for New Zealand, the center is the Native Forest in the Kahurangi National Park
