Mood : pessimistic

Not much to say really, exorcised a lot - didn’t get rid of many of the demons still stuck around my waist! But I am determined to keep at it (play on words “obviously”)

Been out with the band doing what bands do, helped get Little Budworth’s first fete in 15 years off the ground, and then today we were in Halton Haven Hospice playing an informal out door concert in the (if not sunny) dry weather…  The rain arrived just as we finished, though I would argue we played better than that?!

I took a few pics, but I will save them for the Brass Band Blog, (when I eventually update it, tomorrow “hopefully”)

Finally in other news - football, (BIG SURPRISE…sigh) - We are through to the Quarters!  Although being a realist (having watched Argentina play magnificantly yesterday against Mexico) I don’t see us making it all the way to the end…

…Plus…what do you think?  Will the new secret neighbours in Big Brother be the neighbours from hell?

Well here’s the weekend!  I am still keeping up with the exercise thing (Yes I am as shocked and surprised as you are!!), I was a bit upset when I started getting heavier, but that’s because muscle generally is heavier than fat, and I know deep down if I keep this up the trend will soon change for the better.  I certainly feel great for it anyways!

The blackbirds seem to be coping well under occupation by the feline from next door, who appears to have set up a permanent seige on there nesting area (and no I am not interfering with it any way) - why not?  I am a big believer that nature will look after them the way it should always be.  If I interfere I could reduce the chicks chances of survival significantly; the parents seem to know best anyways and have things well under control.  I will keep you posted once the fledglings make their first appearance - I may even post another piccy!!

In other news at least Lisa is out of Big Brother, don’t get me wrong she is a top girl (I voted for Imogen anyways) - but she can’t half swear! Now in the correct context and situation swearing may be the only way of expression for some, but it really is a very un-imaginative way of communicating…she should be in the Guinness Book of records though for swearing over 80 times in 20 minutes!! Bless…

Well can’t dally on here all day.  I am out with the band in a bit so I suppose I had best get ready, if you are anyhere near Little Budworth (not far from Oulton Park) look out for me!  (I’ll be there from about 1pm with the band)…laters!

…My garden leaves an awful lot to be desired at the moment. It’s practically a nature reserve the way I have left it to it’s own devices with wild elderflower and strawberries and blackberries to boot! Anyways, this morning whilst I munched on my cornflakes I spied out of the kitchen window to see what was making all the noise as there was a constant alarming bird chirping away!

It turns out upon closer inspection that “mother” blackbird pictured here>

Mummy Blackbird

Clearly showing here crested war wounds of a previous scuffle with next doors cat, had spotted said feline snoozing right by the side door to my garage, inside which mother blackbird and her partner “Butch-Black” as I call him pictured here >>

Daddy Blackbird

Have decided to nest, judging by his gobfull above, it would appear that I am unofficially a Blackbird grandparent and there are currently little blackbird chucks clucking away in there for their breakfast; mother blackbird was very brave distracting the dis-interested snoozing feline from next door while daddy flew in to feed the little ones!

This was so fascinating it almost made me late for work this morning, which I managed to do by walking for a change (all part of my new exercise regime) and yes I even fit in a workout this morning too!!

…Um yeah so it is?  Woosh!!  Has a whole year passed by that quick?  Meh! Oh well…   Kinda following on from the last post (please no jokes about me playing cornet m’k?); this weekend I have hit a kinda “excersice” frenzy, though I still refuse to join a gym - I have put together a weight, exercise, diet chart to log how much exercise I do a day based on either > cycling, abs master, walking or weights (noting the weight carried each time), at the same time I log my wieght prior to exercise.  Then in a seperate column I make a note of what I have for breakfast, lunch and tea…  with NO provision for snacks (cos they is the devil’s work child!!)

This time I mean business, and because of that I ache like mad and I can hardly move today…..   (mmmwaaaaahhh!!!)

Oh yeah and Happy Father’s Day …Daddy! (Cough - the card’s in the post, I’m sure?)
