There was a time when all our eyes were blue.

A moment when every word was true

There was a time when innocence was blessed

A moment to be nourished and caressed

There was a time when love was your only goal

A moment when your emotions lost control

There will be those times again I am sure

As long as we teach our own souls to endure

Well, I snook in a day off yesterday to travel down to Warwick with my dad to see Morgan Szymanski accompanied by the Sacconi String Quartet - on the program was some Vivaldi (Concerto in D), some Puccini (Crisantemi) some Giuliani (Concerto in A), then the interval consisted of Wine and Soft drinks (for us drivers) out in the beautiful gardens of the Unitarian Chapel in Warwick where small talk was exchanged and we dodged the odd spot of rain from the threatening clouds overhead!

The second half of the concert resumed with a magnificant performce of the Italian Serenade by Hugo Wolf, (one composer I am quite fond of) - this was followed up by some Boccherini (Quintet No. 4) which consisted of 4 movements - the Allegro Maestoso, Pastorale, Grave Assai and finishing with the Fandango!

It was such an excellent concert to be held in a venue as small as this, and to see such accomplished players made for a rather intimate evenings entertainment which beats the dross of Big Brother any day! We were even treated to a special encore of a new piece written especially for the Sacconi Quartet (due to be recorded later this year) not only this BUT the composer Alec Roth was sat right behind us! (The us being My Dad, Uncle Julian and I)…

Afterwards we headed out to a local pub and met up with my Auntie Susan and Cousin Lyndsey with her husband Stuart.  Here are a couple of pics I took on my camera phone:-

We parted ways with Lyndsey and Stuart and headed back to Uncle Julian and Susans place in Lower Quinton; listening to dad playing the guitar and enjoying a little wine to while away the evening.

This morning arrives and after a full English we hed for home but not before I meet some more of my extended family in the form of Ceris and Lucy (2nd Cousins!) As another cousin of mine Joanne popped round with her family consiting of the two daughters and her hubsband Andrew!

There was another mini concert as Ceris and Lucy showed there musical talents off on the Piano and Traingle with dad playing the guitar - here are some pics >>

Since time was getting on, we made our way home shortly after these were taken - and the rest is history…

What’s more the weekend is only just beginning!

…Boo Hoo!!!

My weight is creeping up again; despite my continued energetic efforts.  Every morning I look in the mirror and repeat the mantra - “It must be turning to muscle, it must be turning to muscle…”, oh well, despite the fact that the lady on the butty wagon at work is quite a dish herself, the wagon is out from now on.  Just ain’t helping on my quest for sleakness.

Either that or I need to change the batteries in the scales (again)…

…Where did this spring from?  Only feels like yesterday when it was January, cold and miserable, and my mood at the time wasn’t much better.  How things change eh?  I am more at peace lately than I ever have been; though one could be forgiven for mistaking this relative calm as sheer laziness in the whole scheme of things.

Who cares?  I’m feeling zero stress so I ain’t gonna complain :P  Weekend passed by had a bit of a family BBQ and Andrew and Jo’s; where I think Andrew kinda thought he was feeding the 5,000 the amount of grub he laid on! (So, my diet starts “again” today)

I may blog a little later on….(since I am currently at work and ought to be otherwise occupied)….
