The true cost of being ill!
Posted by: cyberevolution in General, tags: Family, General, Price of Fish, Soap BoxWell, unfortunatley mum took a turn for the worse at the weekend and was taken into hospital. It seems a likley they may have to operate, but it’s too soon to tell. She’s on a surgical ward at Warrington General Hospital…and whilst I don’t begrudge paying a few pennies to park (£1 for upto 3 hours)
It would seem that patients have to pay £3.50 a day just to watch ordinary TV! Or 30p to play a game (that’s 30p per play!!) - also if you ring anyone you will be welcomed by a nice phone bill at the end of the month as the calls are in excess of 60p a minute!
If the NHS is struggling so badly for money where is all this revenue going?
Just based on averages there’s potential income of in excess of £160,000 a year! In just one hospital. NHS Cash Crisis – — > Sounds all too familiar. All the money is apparently being lost into Management, I always believed the addage “Too many cooks spoil the broth” - look’s like in the case of the NHS the broth has all but boiled dry!
Seems to me, that unless you’re minted and own several homes, you can look forward to little or no real level of care and comfort in an NHS hospital.
I’ve signed myself up with the local VETS as I am certain to get a higher level of care from them! At least they will put me down and deal with disposal should they be unable to do anything more for me ![]()

Oh, I hope your mum has a quick recovery. Best wishes to her.
Yeah, we’ve suffered the dreaded car parking fees. When Dad was in hospital last he’d get to the payphone down the corridor if he could.
