Christmas is just round the corner!
Posted by: cyberevolution in General, tags: General, Karma, Media, Price of Fish, Random Thoughts, Soap BoxIt is according to some retailers down in our capital anyways check this — > Christmas Shopping Arrives Early - this says it all really? Has Capitalism totally lost the plot on the true meaning of Christmas? I mean! £329 for a single bauble for goodness sake! This is totally unjustified and really peeves me off.
Christmas is nothing but a commercial paradise for retailers in this day and age. I’d rather be a scruge and not celebrate Christmas than continue to line the pockets of fat cat’s that persist in shamless profit from what is essentially a Christian Festival.
A simple hand made card from a Primary School art class, a simple poem with some thought put into it, has far more meaning at such a time as Christmas than the latests expensive baubles for a tree that ultimatley will end up in a new year bonfire, or shreaded to make compost.
This is a sign of tradition gone Capitalist Crazy….and I abhore it. Harrod’s should be ashamed - and so should anyone out there that owns a £329 bauble.

It’s awful. I woke up this morning to GMTV goign on about Christmas and what the Christmas tree fashion will be this year! I mean, come on, Christmas tree fashion?! WHEN we have a tree it gets decorated with the same old stuff every year. It shouldn’t be about how much is spent and on what, but as you say, more about thought and love.
And £329 for a bauble? I’d be bound to berak it on the way home! Hehe. I can’t afford to walk into Harrods, let alone browse they’re designer bauble collection!
I’m just praying the total cost of my entire Christmas doesn’t come close to that bauble! (not that I am a cheapskate mind!) - I just like gifts to be topical and mean something, regardless of the monetary value.
Well due to my spending spree this year (oops!) I’m afraid I won’t be able to spend a great deal on Christmas this year. I might see if I can make the most of my photography and produce some presents taht way. Hmmm… t’is an idea.
I think that the Bauble is quite cheap, and Christmas is nothing but a commercial paradise for myself.
The thing is I bet Mary & Joseph and the kid Jesus would shop at Harrods, forget about christmas with a apple and a Orange in you stocking come to Harrods and Spend Spend Spend
Christmas comes but Once a Year….!!!!!??!??
Cheers
Mo
I rest my case…
