Decided to go visit a close friend and spend some real quality time socialising; and I am a little tired and scracthed by little playful kittens but still floating from the times I have shared this weekend.  It’s amazing how easily the hours can dissapear when doubles are being served in the bar!  I explored both the smallest Pub and the oldest Inn in England - so if you know where they are, you can pretty much guess where I was…

I guess I might even be wearing a cheeky grin on my face all day tomorrow at work.

As I recover from another morning in the gym, I mull over events that are current happening at my place of work.  I wonder - what is the impact to me?  Should I simply buff my chest up and drive forward in an engaged manner?  Or take a stand for my rights to be paid a salary that befits my station?  I’m sick of the disparity that exists in the workplace still.  I’m sick of all the “castle-building” that exists in the workplace management still.  Where is the accountability?  Where is the shop-floor empowermernt?

I have recently volunteered for a group position which should put the latter to the test!  Which basically has the remit - “You lot agree what work goes where, BUT we, the manager(s) reserve the right to say NO” - doesn’t enstill much confidence does it?  But if you don’t try - nothing will change; until the next round of redundancies of course :P

Some of the things I want to see more of - TWO way briefing, a more structured approach to departmental duties, and clearer demarcation for what each individual is responsible AND accountable for.  Instead of simply being labelled by the catch-all tag of “Operations!”

It’s getting a little frustrating following people around with a pooper-scooper (although admittedly this has to be in a minority of cases).

…Today, I go to work with bated breath - despite having brushed my teeth twice.

In my personal opinion, there are too many listeners, a smaller percentage of don’t cares and a shameful minority of “doers”.

I have always strived towards being a “doer” - but latley - I am ashamed to say I am being pulled towards the dark side of “don’t care”…
