Mood : crappy

Well, it’s been an eventful couple of weeks just gone, I worked some overtime after Christmas, and then on New Years Eve.  Got extremley drunk and ill at my broither’s house!  I never thought I could consume so much alcohol.  If that isn’t enough I am full of a nasty cold that has managed to do me more damage than I bargained for…

At some point last night I sneezed/coughed and managed to burst a blood vessel in my eye, apparently this is quite a common thing.  For those of you who aren’t squeemish here’s a link to the picture (those that are, DON’T GO THERE THEN!!) - Bloodshot eye

So spotting this problem in the morning, first thing to happen was PANIC! then as I calmed down it was a case of; who do I go to see?  Went to the Doctor Surgery…and got the by now standard NHS response of if you’re not dying we can’t see you; well thanks! Glad to see my taxes are well spent; rather than trudge allthe way to Minor Injuries and wait a further 8+ hours I thought I would try specsavers my local opticians who I am registered with anyways.  They saw me straight away and were able to confirm the problem in my eye was nothing more than a burst blood vesel.

Well, I’d say this is a clear advertisement for the private sector providing a better service than the NHS wouldn’t you?  I’d like to say, hey!! Aboloish National insurance altogether because it simply doesn’t work, but things are never “that” simple.  I just get annoyed - when I pay a compulsory government premium and struggle to get the service I pay for.  The NHS really is the pits!  Think I am being harsh?? Then prove me wrong!
