Well, it’s been a painful last couple of weeks; especially leaving Tiscali!!  They even had the gaul to switch off my Internet a day early too!  I musn’t grumble though, because I am now back with BT (I know they aren’t the cheapest..but still they offer a much better service than I have enjoyed of late) - not least a download speed of 7.1 Meg out of a possible 8 Meg!! which personally is astounding considering the distance I am from the exchange!!

Let’s see if that rate will remain in the coming weeks or whether it is just a fluke following my first connection.  One thing I don’t like is the apparent lack of control over the BT Hub, much of the advanced features are beyond my visibility; given that I am a technical support engineer this is rather frustrating.  Though the plug and play aspect of this does compensate to a degree.  I have to say these home hubs are aimed at the less than technically minded (for a change).
