The amazing thing was the method of selection and purchase?! First I have to take my shoes and socks off, then jog both feet onto a pressure pad, to map the foot impact on the ground, then once this is done you are shown a number of suitable shoes which you then jog through the store in (shoe clinic) whilst the Salesperson (or rocket scientist??) squints thoughtfully at your feet.

Then you proceed to jog on a treadmill, whilst they make a blockbuster movie of you foot stride, and they can then establish the validity of the choice of running shoe.

All of this concludes of course ends with the parting of some cash, and a happy customer, BUT it doesn’t end there, they have a physio on once a week, which you can consult with for any aspect of your training relating to these shoes, and you also have seven days to break them in and return them no quibbles if your less than happy after a bit of a jog.

Why oh why can’t ALL shoe shops be this thorough?
