Gah?! I promised myself no more MMORPG’s?! (That’s Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) - Think Everquest, World of Warcraft, Star Wars Online…..and now??

I have downloaded a demo of “Lord of the Rings Online” - and I must admit it’s got a happy mix of features from both Everquest and World of Warcraft, and yet manages to stand apart from the crowd as well, with a few unique touches too. Earning XP isn’t as much of a drag as I had thought; and the quest structure is pretty immersive particulary through the introductory lvls.

I’ve been playing a Hunter, which is kinda like a Ranger from Everquest (my first MMORPG, I still have a lvl75 Wizard there lol). Anyhoo I’ve been playing this new “toon” (what we in the know call our characters) for about a day now, and I am currently lvl7 - if anyone out there also plays I’m on the European Server > Snowbourn and my “toon” is called ‘Sparticulas’ - regardless of game I always use the same names, I use the convention that whatever name I choose it has to contain ‘Spar’ it’s kinda my signature and it has got me recognised a few times in the past when I’ve crossed from one MMORPG to another…this comes from my love of David Eddings character - Sparhawk of course?!

meh it’s another distraction from the real world I guess.

Speaking of which…must dash - I got band rehersal in like an hour…

  1. Kris: It’s tough, some of these distractions are soo good! I’ll be sitting thinking wow, there’s so much stuff that I need to get done… but wait, BREAKING NEWS!! I’ll do it after, but wait THE SIMPSONS!! It just keeps going.

  2. Oh, I thought it might come from your love as the Great British institution of shops called Spar! :D

  3. Hey Nikki….I know I’m twisted sometimes…but..I’m not that far gone!
