I have lived in New Zealand for nearly TEN MONTHS now! In that time, I have not seen a wild ‘Black Swan’ until today….nestling amongst the edge of the river just outside my digs no less! Last time I saw a black swan in the flesh was when I went to Martin Mere Wild Fowl Trust near Southport in UK when I was about 9 years old - on a School Trip; remember that Alan?? We all went around the place, and did brass rubbings as an activity too! I’ve still got some snaps from that day ;p
