OMG!!! I’ve just finished watching a DVD - I wasn’t sure what to watch this evening, so I went for a random pick out of my collection, which turned out to be ‘Independance Day’ - and guess what date it is today?!!!?!

DUH!

I promise I didn’t realise it was the 4th July until after I finished watching the DVD….

All I can assume is my unconsious mind was well aware of the date, and thought the irony wouldn’t be wasted on me!

In other news…I am off to watch my first live game of Rugby at the Westpac Arena (amiably known as the cake-tin) tomorrow evening, with the All Blacks (New Zealand) yay!! Versus the Springboks (South Africa) in the start of the Tri-Nations. This should prove to be a very interesting game! Of course I’ll be supporting the local team :)

…Ok so I may not be the Captain of a star-ship, but this is my personal log of a sorts…lol!! Well, wadd’ya know!! Just finished watching “The Wrath of Khan” directors edition for old time’s sake and to keep trek fresh in my mind ready for the new installment, and that scene towards the end where they fire Spock’s inanimate body off still manages to bring a lump to my throat!

Meh!! I’m only human.

‘The needs of the many, out-way the needs of the few, or the one……you have been, and always shall be my friend……live long and prosper’ - Captain Spock

who says they don’t kill off the main characters in Star Trek eh?! ok ok….it doesn’t count cos they brought him right back in the sequel….oh well….that would soooo not have happened to ‘Ensign Spock’….now come on be honest!

It’s been a while huh! Got some hard work planned for the weekend, most of Saturday is going to be spent recording with the Brass Band, for our forthcoming CD! So, I’ve been practicing, and practicing… and… well you get the picture. Also got a date with some ‘Hells’ Pizza too (not the reason for this post’s title by the way) this weekend; and maybe some friendly Texas Hold’em.

I watched ‘Plunkett & Macleane‘ again this evening, I must say; it’s one of my top ten DVD’s! considering there’s a very loose spattering of fact surrounding the main character’s this adds to the adventure - A man once of some means, hits rock bottom; falls in with an ex-apothecary (chemist to you and me!), and much robbing and horse-riding ensues! With a great host of top name actors - I have to say Ken Stott plays a great ‘baddy’ in this film. Lyv Tyler plays the teenage groupie basically who swoons over Jonny Lee Miller as Captain Macleane and his ‘man’ Robert Carlisle who plays Plunkett, which is certainly a name associated with brains; now - did you know the guy who invented Teflon had this surname? No? Well, it’s true! Roy Plunkett invented Teflon, by accident; back in 1938 and now here’s a real irony for ya! He was born in - wait for it!! New Carlisle; Ohio! Anyhoo - this poor guy is about as alive as the original ex-apothecary since he passed away almost exactly 14 years ago.

In other news, I are tired, so I are going to bed - grammer is soooo over-rated. Sleep on the other hand, isn’t….night all!

A film crew have been lurking around the grounds at work these last couple of days and proved quite entertaining to watch during one of my ‘vdu breaks’ =p Although we’ve no idea at all what they are filming as they are being extremly tight lipped, using my incredible detective like power I was able to ascertain which crowd they were so just click the link and you’ll see they are the same outfit responsible for flicks like the Whale Rider for example!

I’ll keep my nose to the ground in case I learn any more!!
