Well?! I got your attention didn’t I?…For all the moaning, and bleeting I ‘could’ be doing right now, considering….um….’stuff’ I am remarkably chilled out. It’s a great testiment to the people I have around me - that in a similar situation back in ‘Old Blighty’ I’d be sourcing a very tall building or a bridge, or ringing the Samaritons for advice on the nearest railway track….
Nothing’s ever quite ‘that’ end-of-the-line for me though these days, so rest assured; all is good
Also - Joss Whedon is a god with his amazingly funny, musical blog - Dr Horrible’s Sing-a-long blog! total awesomess that quite frankly you couldn’t buy in a can anywhere else on the planet even if they put a sticker on it saying ‘Dr Horribles Sing-a-long Blog’! Put together during a time of writers throwing there dummies out of their penthouse apartments and condo’s this ‘new’ business model for entertainment holds some interesting promise!
Targetting the internet directly, Joss is embracing the new world - just goes to show, you really can’t stop the signal! I’m holding out for this model to work and pray that this breathes new life into the Firefly ‘verse’…let’s face it - I’d pay per episode to see Firefly continue! So, Joss?? Fingers crossed for ya mate!
In other news? The world still exists; for the most part people have their health. It seems to me the largest thing dying in the world of late is the economy… simple solution! Abolish all currency, and go back to bartering skills! I’m sure accountants the world over are multiskilled enough, to move to something else like couting sheep for example? Alas when it comes to all stuff ‘global’ there never is a simple answer. If anyone thinks they have the answer, please feel free to comment it on here.

Jeepers, where did the weekend go…? Might have something to do with the massive amount of rehearsing with the Brass Band, we fly down to Christchurch next Wednesday to defend our current title, which is huge stuff for us, because if we manage to pull this off, we will be bring an A Grade band back to the capital of New Zealand - sweet!
Yesterday we rehearsed from 12.00 (lunchtime) through to 6pm!! Hardcore! Leaving me just enough time to go and catch the All-Blacks anihalate (spelling?) the Springboks (sorry Rach)
Today started rather lazily for me, with a lie in followed by laundry, and a bit of pottering around on the computer (I suppose this is the modern evolution from pottering around in the garden shed??) followed by - yes you guessed it, MORE brass band rehearsing, you see we are running a concert/open rehearsal tomorrow night; ready for the big stuff next weekend….funnily enough a friend of our conductor wanted to record us for a film, we had to sound like a school band, apparently we were naturals….o.O
Me confident for Christchurch? Course I am!! (gulp)…
In other news - very unsurprising I have heard nothing from my local MP. Whom I wrote to via email regarding my council tax ‘fiasco’, I’ll let it ride for a further 28 days after which. I guess his stance will have been made clear….”who cares about the little guys after all?”
Hope everyone out there had a great weekend, and heres looking forward to a very POSITIVE week ahead

Well, what can I say - I have such great taste in friends, ok so I work with him too! Me and J hit the town last night, and it was steaming…. literally, I lost count of the number of bourbons and coke after the first 10 minutes?! I got home some time after 4am and that signalled the start of the worst best day of my year so far….yeah confusing huh!
So, when I woke up today (and missed the W.O.F. testing station for my car damit!!) I decided to go for a walk - this is at about 2pm. I don my MP3 player, with some ambient tunes weaving their way into my ears. I walk. No where in particular but with just one thing on my mind, the ‘now’, or rather it’s relation to coincidence and fate if any. Before I know it, it’s 3pm and I have walked halfway round Lower Hutt in a world of my own. Within myself, and yet so far divorced from the physical aspect of me, that it was really quite exhilerating!
In order to bring myself a little closer to planet Earth again, I decide to watch - ‘The Incredible Hulk’ in the cinema - and BOY what a better effort than the first reprisal a year or so ago! With some great cameo appearances including Lou Ferrigno the original HULK! (even providing the voice of Hulk!) and a short appearance by Marvels own Stan Lee who gets a little taste of his own medicine shall we say! All in all, one of those ‘yeah I’d watch that again’ flicks….
then I walk home from the cinema (since my car is currently off the road until I renew the Warrent of Fitness) which at 3km or so, takes me around 30mins, and here I am sat typing this, feeling the lack of bourbon return to my system =p
In other news I just found out that my brother’s mother-in-law just passed away, and that our own mum is back in hospital, my faith in the UK Social Services is increasingly diminishing! - what a downer!

It looks like Dorothy’s Tinman finally got his heart, and grew up to be - IRONMAN

I’ve just got back from watching what is now officially my favourite super-hero movie of ALL time to date! IRONMAN! Starring Robert Downey Jnr. and Jeff Bridges. I even watched it in a luxury cinema with reclining leather seats, it was awesome! The film brakes all the rules of conventional super-hero films I’ve seen so far by being incredibly entertaining, whitty, funny and full of the damndest special effects I’ve seen since….well since um….forever!
If you ain’t seen it yet..shame on you, if you weren’t thinking of seeing it shame on you, if you’ve seen it and thought it was rubbish? Shame on you!!!
